Belka

An economic crisis in the 1980s led to the Belkan War in 1995, which Belka lost against the Allied Forces.^[1][2] After defeat, the Belkan Federation dissolved and the Principality was reduced to a fraction of its pre-1995 borders.^[1] Belkan nationalism grew, and many Belkans attempted to influence later conflicts such as the Circum-Pacific War and Lighthouse War.^[1] Belka was the antagonist in Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War, and its nationalists influenced events in Ace Combat 5, Ace Combat 7, Ace Combat 6, and Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy.^[1]

The Principality of Belka, also called Nord Belka, is a country situated on the Osean continent.^[1] The Osean Federation lies to its west, Ustio to its south, and FATO, Gebet, and Recta to its east.^[1] Belka previously headed the larger Belkan Federation and was a major scientific, industrial, and military force that competed with the Osean Federation.^[1] During the Osean War in the early 1900s, Belka was the first nation in Strangereal to employ combat aircraft.^[1][3]

The head of state from 1992 to 1996 was Waldemarr Rald.^[5] Belka's military consisted of the Belkan Army, Belkan Air Force, and Belkan Navy.^[5]
