Lore & Background
In Young Justice, Superboy is a hybrid human-Kryptonian clone of Superman and Lex Luthor created by Project Cadmus. His human DNA holds back his Superman-like abilities; Luthor gives him patches that unlock his full Kryptonian powers, typically for about an hour, but they also make him more aggressive. He and Miss Martian later fall in love and travel to Mars intending to marry. There he is apparently killed stopping Ma'alefa'ak's bomb, but Phantom Girl secretly transports him to the Phantom Zone.
