The Justice Society of America

The first superhero team, with members in Young Justice.

The Justice Society of America is a DC Comics superhero team created by Gardner Fox and Sheldon Mayer that first appeared in All Star Comics #3 (winter 1940-1941), the first team of superheroes in comic books. Its original members were Doctor Fate, Hourman, the Spectre, Sandman, Atom, the Flash, Green Lantern and Hawkman.

The Justice Society appears in Young Justice. Its members there include Jay Garrick, the first Flash, who is initially retired but joins the Justice League in the fourth season, and Kent Nelson, the first Doctor Fate, who is killed during Wally West's fight with Klarion and whose spirit moves to the Helmet of Fate.
