The World-That-Was

Mallus: the lost world Chaos destroyed, whose core now hangs over Sigmaron.

The World-That-Was - also called the World Before Time, the Broken World and, by scholars, Mallus - is the ancient planet that existed before the Mortal Realms and was destroyed by the united power of Chaos millennia ago. The Old Ones had reshaped it for mortal life and made the first men, aelves and duardin there, and many of today's gods, Chosen and ordinary folk trace their existence back to lives on that world, reborn or altered in the realms. Its destruction flung its metal core through the Cosmos Arcane with Sigmar clinging to it; the drake Dracothion caught the core and set it in the sky of Azyr, where it now hangs above Sigmaron, orbited by the Sigmarabulum, a ring of forges built by Dracothion, Grungni and Tyrion. Its white moon Mannslieb hangs above Sigmaron too, and from the magic that bled out of the dying world the Eight Realms were born.
