The Soulbound
Mortal heroes whose souls are bound together to fight for Order.
The Soulbound are mortal heroes of many species and cultures in service to Order, chosen from across the Mortal Realms for their skill and sent against the forces of Chaos, Death and Destruction. Each has their soul magically bound to those of the others in their group, in a ritual that is agonising and often fatal; the survivors gain greatly enhanced physical and magical abilities, even a slim chance of escaping death. They work in small bands called Bindings. Stormcast Eternals can never be truly Soulbound, since Reforging has already tied their souls to Sigmar's celestial energies, though individual Stormcasts may serve alongside a Binding. The order dates to the Age of Myth, when the Pantheon of Order created it as servants of the gods and guardians of the realms.
