The Realmgate Wars
Sigmar's Storm breaks the Age of Chaos and a thousand battles begin.
The Realmgate Wars are the wars that opened the Age of Sigmar. The Age of Chaos, an aeon in which the peoples of every realm were subjugated and enslaved, ended when Sigmar's Storm broke: the God-King's crusade was so violent that it shook the stars, and across the Mortal Realms a thousand battles raged. The first blow fell in Aqshy, where the Hammers of Sigmar Stormhost struck the Brimstone Peninsula to reopen a Gate of Azyr as the beachhead for the Stormcast invasion of the Realm of Fire; the Great Parch became the region where Sigmar concentrated his Stormcast forces and where the Cities of Sigmar now stand.
The wars are told in campaign books including Quest for Ghal Maraz, Balance of Power, Godbeasts and All-gates, and their chapters include the Heldenhammer Crusade, the War of Lost Time, the War for the Jade Kingdoms in Ghyran and the Duardin front, where the Fyreslayers of the Vostarg lodge fought the skaven at their magmahold of Furios Peak.
