Sigmar
The God-King of Azyr, who ordered the Stormcast Eternals forged to take the realms back from Chaos.
Sigmar, called Sigmar Heldenhammer and the God-King, is the god of civilisation and progress, patron of mankind, lord of the Realm of Azyr and of the Free Peoples of the Cities of Sigmar. Already a god at the end of the World-That-Was, he survived that world's destruction in the End Times only by clinging to its metal core, later named Mallus; after aeons adrift he was found by Dracothion the Great Drake, who showed him the Eight Realms and helped him hang Mallus in the sky above Azyr.
In the Age of Myth he woke other gods who had once been mortals and ruled a Pantheon of Order while mortal cities flourished, but when Chaos broke the pantheon he withdrew to Azyr and sealed its gates. He lost his warhammer Ghal Maraz at the Battle of Burning Skies, which began the Age of Chaos. The Stormcast Eternals were created on his order to retake the realms, and the current age is named for that crusade.
