Fal Dara
The northernmost city of Shienar, where the hunt for the Horn begins.
Fal Dara is the northernmost city in Shienar, one of the Borderland nations of the Westlands. Early in The Great Hunt, after the events at the Eye of the World, Rand al'Thor and his companions rest there while Lan Mandragoran instructs Rand in sword fighting. In the television adaptation its ruler is Lord Agelmar, whose sister is Lady Amalisa, and Min Farshaw keeps a tavern in the city.
Lore & Background
The keep holds the peddler Padan Fain as a prisoner until Darkforces invade it, free him and carry off the Horn of Valere together with the tainted dagger from Shadar Logoth. The Amyrlin Seat, Siuan Sanche, visits Fal Dara with an escort of Aes Sedai that includes Verin Mathwin of the Brown Ajah and Alanna of the Green Ajah.
