Kahlan Amnell
The Mother Confessor who becomes Richard's wife.
Kahlan Amnell is one of the protagonists of Terry Goodkind's The Sword of Truth. In Wizard's First Rule she is the Mother Confessor, leader of the Confessors, who comes from the Midlands looking for the wizard known as the "Old One" and meets Richard Cypher.

Background
Kahlan and Richard fall in love on their quest for the last Box of Orden. Separated when the Sisters of the Light take Richard, she witnesses the start of the Imperial Order's invasion and is sentenced to death in Aydindril, surviving with her identity shielded by Zedd. As prophecy foretold, she betrays Richard so that he can enter the Temple of the Winds, and the two marry in the Mud People's village. In Faith of the Fallen she takes command of the D'Haran army and holds off Jagang's forces at Aydindril. In the Chainfire trilogy the Sisters of the Dark erase everyone's memory of her and use her to steal the boxes of Orden, until Richard restores her memories with the magic of Orden. In The Children of D'Hara she learns she is carrying Richard's twins.
