The Sisters of the Light
Sorceresses who train young wizards in the Old World.
The Sisters of the Light are a semi-religious order of sorceresses in The Sword of Truth who worship the Creator and train young wizards who have no wizard to teach them. They live together in the Palace of the Prophets in the Old World until it is destroyed, and later move into the Wizard's Keep.

Background
In Stone of Tears they capture Richard and take him to the Palace of the Prophets, where he learns about magic, prophecy and his own identity. They keep trainee wizards under control with the Rada'han, a metal collar. In Blood of the Fold Richard destroys the Palace so Jagang cannot use its treasures, and the new Prelate, Verna, leads the Sisters and their students to join the D'Haran army. Some of them secretly turn to the Keeper of the Underworld as Sisters of the Dark; their own law treats a false accusation of being one as attempted murder, which makes the traitors hard to root out.
