Triforce
Three golden triangles of power, wisdom and courage.
The Triforce is the artifact and emblem of The Legend of Zelda, made of three equilateral triangles joined into one. In the story it holds the essence of the Golden Goddesses Din, Nayru and Farore, who created Hyrule, and it can grant any wish to whoever holds it.

Lore & Background
Ganon, Zelda and Link usually each hold one piece, standing for power, wisdom and courage. Finding the Triforce and keeping it from Ganon is a common goal in the games. The design matches the mitsuuroko ("three scales") crest of Japan's Hōjō clan from the 13th century. Miyamoto has said the pieces were first meant to be electronic chips, from an early idea of a game set in both past and future.
