Champion's Order

Four heroes, four beasts, and a kingdom's final stand against darkness.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is a 2024 action-adventure game developed by Nintendo and Grezzo and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. It is the first mainline The Legend of Zelda game with Princess Zelda as the main playable character. Players control Zelda on a quest to save Link and the kingdom of Hyrule using the Tri Rod, a magical artifact provided by the fairy Tri, who assists her. The visual style is similar to that of the 2019 remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, which Grezzo also developed. Echoes of Wisdom was released to generally favorable reviews.

Lore & Background

It does not reference Breath of the Wild, Divine Beasts, or the Great Calamity. The plot of Echoes of Wisdom: Zelda escapes imprisonment after being framed for causing rifts, repairs rifts with Tri, rescues Link from Ganon, and ultimately confronts the primordial evil Null, who created imposters and seeks the Triforce. The Tris are sent by the Golden Goddesses to repair rifts. No Champions or their order appear.

In Their Own Story

The source does not contain any narrative about a group called Champion's Order. The story it covers is that of Echoes of Wisdom: Zelda, framed for rifts that trap people in the Still World, escapes prison with Tri, uses the Tri Rod to create echoes, and travels Hyrule to repair rifts. She rescues the real Link from an imposter Ganon, learns Null created the rifts to break its seal, and defeats Null with Link's help. The Tris repair the rifts and return to the Goddesses. No Champions, Divine Beasts, or century-long stasis are mentioned.

Reader's Guide

It details gameplay for Echoes of Wisdom: Zelda uses the Tri Rod to create echoes (imitations of objects and monsters), with a limit indicated by triangles behind Tri. She can use Bind and Reverse Bind, and a Swordfighter form resembling Link that requires energy orbs from the Still World. Travel methods include echoes, Waypoints, on foot, or horseback. She can change outfits, combine ingredients for smoothies, and explore dungeons with bosses. The game has 127 echoes total, selected via a scrolling menu. No Champions, their abilities, or their legacy are referenced.
