Dawnguard
Skyrim's band of crossbow-wielding vampire hunters.
The Dawnguard are an organisation of vampire hunters in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim who rely on crossbows in their fight against Clan Volkihar, a family of vampires. They give their name to Dawnguard, the first downloadable add-on for Skyrim, released on PC and Xbox 360 in 2012 and on PlayStation 3 in February 2013.
Lore & Background
The add-on revolves around the battle between the Dawnguard and the Volkihar, whose leader Lord Harkon intends to use an Elder Scroll to blot out the sun for good. It adds two joinable factions: the player can aid the Dawnguard or join the Volkihar and become a vampire lord.
