Gameplay

Line challenge is a timed mode designed for newer players. The goal is to clear as many lines as possible before the clock runs out. By default, the timer is set to 120 seconds, but an operator can adjust this. Clearing multiple lines at once adds extra seconds: two for a Double, five for a Triple, and twenty for a Tetris. If the player tops out—by placing a block above the seventh row or blocking piece entry—the bottom seven rows vanish and play continues, but five seconds are taken off the timer. The mode ends when time expires or the player clears 200 lines. Score challenge is a high-score mode for more experienced players. The aim is to reach the highest score possible before topping out or hitting the 200-line limit. The scoring system differs from standard Guideline rules, heavily rewarding Tetrises. The level increases every ten lines, capping at Level 15, which ends the game. The maximum score is 99,999 points. The machine records the top 1,000 scores, shown on the attract screen and during play. In-game, a leaderboard appears beside the playfield, moving up as the player’s score climbs. Special attention is given to scores in positions that are multiples of 100, such as 1000th or 900th, and to the top ten scores.
