Facts from the source article.
Production
Robert Popper created the series five years before its broadcast, originally conceiving it as about two best friends. He told The Evening Standard he wanted to explore how a best-friend relationship can involve intense feelings of both love and hate. Tanya Reynolds was cast at the end of 2020, and Melissa Saint auditioned in March 2021. The cast also included Shaquille Ali-Yebuah, Chetna Pandya, Joe Tracini, and Jonny Sweet, with a cameo voice appearance by Peter Serafinowicz as a talking horse.
Reception
Rebecca Nicholson of The Guardian gave the series two stars, describing it as watching two grown women behaving like puerile teenage boys. Michael Hogan of The Daily Telegraph called the series misfiring and said its title invited dislike. Steve Bennett of Chortle compared it to Popper's earlier sitcom Friday Night Dinner, noting that the characters Charlie and Becca serve as vessels for similar dumb jokes and that the tone would likely appeal to fans of that show.
