Broadcast history

A pilot for this comedy aired on Channel 4 on 23 December 2013, which led to a full six-episode first series starting on 16 March 2015. That series averaged 1.3 million viewers and a 6.3% audience share, ranking as Channel 4's second most-watched comedy of 2015. A second six-part series, filmed in late 2015, began airing on 2 March 2016. The show was cancelled on 9 August 2016 because Channel 4 had commitments to new programmes for the following year. On 18 October 2016, the Moran sisters started a Kickstarter campaign to fund either a one-off special (if £320,000 was raised by 20 November 2016) or a full third series (if more than that amount was donated). The campaign did not reach its goal, and plans for a third series were abandoned.

Reception

The series received generally positive reviews. The Daily Telegraph called it "terrific" and "refreshingly honest", while The Independent described it as "great fun". The Guardian labelled it a "loving and funny sitcom". However, the Glasgow Herald criticised the pilot's focus on a character's first period, calling it "a bloody mess". The Radio Times noted that the second series "gets even better. And filthier."
