Typhon

The child Witch of Pride, who asks everyone whether they are a sinner and punishes the guilty.

Typhon is the Witch of Pride. She acts really child-like, which reflects her actual age, doing things on impulse, failing to read the mood and rarely listening to others; her replies sometimes seem younger than expected even for a 10-year-old.

Background

Typhon has trouble with heavier, philosophical topics, as when she could not understand Subaru's view on "good" and "bad" people. She shows a heavy interest in people's "sins", often disregarding whole conversations to work out whether someone is an "evildoer". She feels little compassion for those she regards as evildoers, yet shows solicitude toward people with a guilty conscience who are not evildoers, even though she is perfectly capable of killing them. Her view of the world is described as easygoing and bizarre, nothing like what you would expect from a 10-year-old girl.

As a young girl she was troubled by the concept of good and evil and watched her father execute people as part of his job, looking for an answer. One day she broke his wine cup and confessed while fearing execution; he accepted her apology, which led her to believe that the scale measuring a person's sin lies inside their own heart. From then on Typhon asked people whether they were sinners and brought punishment down on the guilty, judging criminals with a child's innocence and ruthlessness, which eventually resulted in her killing her own father and other members of her village. She is voiced by Misaki Kuno in Japanese and Kimberley Anne Campbell in English.
