New features

Players can now equip their in-game characters with officially licensed fielding gloves, batting gloves, cleats, and bats. Progress from MLB 14: The Show carries over, letting you continue Franchise, Road to the Show, and Postseason Mode saves without starting over. This transfer works both ways between the PS3 and PS4 versions. A new universal rewards system gives out cards and stubs for playing any mode; these rewards include player cards for Diamond Dynasty, plus equipment, sponsorships, or stadiums. The Community Market lets players trade cards with each other using Stubs.

Reception

MLB 15: The Show received generally favorable reviews. The PlayStation 4 version scored 81% on GameRankings based on 29 reviews and 80/100 on Metacritic based on 37 reviews. The PlayStation Vita version holds a 71% score on GameRankings. Sony did not provide review copies before release, citing the Universal Rewards feature requiring active servers. Review copies were distributed on the public release date, March 31. The game was nominated for Sports Game of the Year at the 19th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards.
