Aphrodite is one of the twelve Olympian gods, and her domain — love, beauty, desire — is taken with almost suspicious seriousness in the Percy Jackson universe. Her appearance shifts constantly, always becoming more beautiful.

Lore & Background
At Camp Half-Blood, Cabin 10 is the home of her demigod children. In the 2010 film, where she is played by Serinda Swan, she is the wife of Hephaestus and the lover of Ares. Her daughter Silena Beauregard, head counselor of the Aphrodite cabin, turned out to be Kronos's spy at camp, but chose to right her wrongs after her boyfriend Beckendorf's death. A few of her children have the rare hereditary gift of charmspeak, the ability to magically convince people to do what they say.
Reader's Guide
Her daughter Piper McLean, whose father is the actor Tristan McLean, has the gift of charmspeak and can speak French, 'the language of love'. Unlike most children of Aphrodite, Piper is not particularly obsessed with beauty or fashion. Aphrodite's son Eros (Cupid), whose father is Ares, is the god of love.
