Lantern Waste is a snow-covered forest region in Narnia, named after a solitary lamp-post that stands in a clearing. It is the location where Lucy Pevensie first enters Narnia through the magical wardrobe in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. The lamp-post marks the boundary between the mundane world and Narnia, and it is where Lucy meets Mr. Tumnus the Faun. Years later, while hunting the White Stag through Lantern Waste, Lucy and her siblings notice the lantern where she met Mr. Tumnus before returning through the wardrobe to England.
