Lore & Background
In the western regions of Narnia the clever, greedy ape Shift persuades the naive donkey Puzzle to wear a lion's skin and passes him off as Aslan. The struggle between true and false Narnians merges with a war against Calormen, whose people worship Tash, and after a last battle that is all but lost Aslan brings the world to an end. Lewis won the Carnegie Medal for the book.
