The Silver Chair is the fourth Chronicles of Narnia novel to be published, released by Geoffrey Bles in 1953. It is set in Narnia decades after The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, though less than a year later in England.

Background
King Caspian X is now an old man and his only son and heir, Prince Rilian, is missing. Aslan sends two children from England to solve the mystery: Eustace Scrubb, reformed since the Dawn Treader voyage, and his classmate Jill Pole, both unhappy pupils at the boarding school Experiment House. The book was adapted as a six-episode BBC television series in 1990.
