The Eye of Agamotto is the name usually given to the amulet Doctor Strange wears on his chest, though the Eye itself lives inside the amulet and is released from time to time. Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, it first appeared in "The Origin of Dr. Strange" in Strange Tales #115 (1963).

Reader's Guide
Ditko based its design on the Eyes of Buddha, a Nepali symbol meant to protect the wearer from evil. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe the Eye holds the Time Stone, one of the Infinity Stones.
