Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta season 7

Production

Filming for season seven began during the last week of October 2017. Days earlier, singer Jhonni Blaze, who had appeared on Love & Hip Hop: New York and the cancelled Love & Hip Hop: Houston, posted several Instagram videos exposing upcoming storylines, including an allegedly fabricated secret baby plot involving Rasheeda and Kirk and an alleged sexual tryst between Stevie J and transgender model Shauna Brooks. Blaze was initially set to join the cast as Stevie's new artist, replacing Joseline Hernandez, but fell out with producers after her Love & Hip Hop: Houston co-star and rival Just Brittany was cast.

On December 11, 2017, filming was interrupted in Buckhead after a mall security guard was allegedly run down by a disgruntled customer. Weeks later, the show made headlines when cast member Tommie Lee allegedly brought a loaded gun to set during a confrontation with Karen King. In February 2018, Tommie faced legal issues after allegedly attacking a jewelry store employee. On February 16, 2018, VH1 announced the season's return for March 19, 2018, with Love & Hip Hop: New York's Erica Mena joining the cast.

A scene from the premiere episode showing Erica's arrival in Atlanta was released the same day. The season featured a new opening credits sequence. Jessica Dime was promoted to the main cast after three seasons as a supporting cast member. New cast members included Jessica's fiancé Shawne Williams, Grammy Award-winning songwriter Sean Garrett, Jamaican recording artist Spice, singer Just Brittany, rappers Tokyo Vanity and BK Brasco, and music executive Keely the Boss.

Erica Dixon returned as a supporting cast member for two episodes after a two-year absence. Love & Hip Hop: New York star Rich Dollaz made a special crossover appearance in the last two episodes.
