The Zone
When body and will become one, the court itself bends to the player's truth.
The Zone is a state in Kuroko's Basketball that brings a player's focus and reaction speed to the maximum. Daiki Aomine is the first person to master using a trigger to enter it at will; when he enters it in the Winter Cup game against Seirin his speed doubles and Seirin is unable to stop him.
Lore & Background
Taiga Kagami answers him in the same game, and the two aces fight in the Zone. Against Yōsen, Kagami unlocks the Zone again to match Murasakibara's power, and in the final against Rakuzan he enters it with his first basket, dangerously using up his stamina. Aomine suspects that there is a greater Zone behind a second "door"; Kagami opens this "true Zone" with Kuroko as his gatekeeper. Seijūrō Akashi also enters the Zone in the final, and his support draws his teammates, members of the Uncrowned Kings, into an imperfect version of it.
Reader's Guide
Not every strong player can reach it: Kise says that Yōsen's Tatsuya Himuro lacks the talent to enter the Zone. It is costly as well, and Kagami leaves it when he reaches his physical limits.
