Seirin
Five players, one invisible thread—Seirin proves the team is greater than any single star.
Seirin High is the central team of Kuroko's Basketball, a newly established school in the Tokyo district whose basketball team was founded only the year before the story begins. That first team, made up only of freshmen, reached the final league of the Inter-High tournament. This year its notable newcomers are Tetsuya Kuroko, the phantom sixth man of the Generation of Miracles, and Taiga Kagami.

Lore & Background
Kuroko and Kagami, a gifted player raised primarily in the United States, set out to take Seirin to the top of Japan by challenging Kuroko's former teammates. Seirin wins a practice match against Ryota Kise's Kaijo and beats Shutoku High in the Interhigh preliminaries, then suffers a crushing defeat against Touhou Academy, led by Daiki Aomine. Losses to Senshinkan and Meisei eliminate the team from the tournament. The return of Teppei Kiyoshi, one of the team's founders, revitalizes Seirin before the Winter Cup. There Seirin beats Touhou, Yōsen High and finally Rakuzan High to win the Winter Cup.
