Lord Shen
The peacock who turned fireworks into cannons.
Lord Shen is the peacock villain of Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011), voiced by Gary Oldman. The son of Gongmen City's peacock rulers, he discovered that the gunpowder in their fireworks could be used as a weapon, and he sets out to conquer China with cannons.
Lore & Background
A Soothsayer told Shen's parents that if he kept on this path, a warrior of black and white would defeat him. Shen concluded the warrior would be a panda and sent his wolf army to wipe out every panda in China; his horrified parents banished him from the city. He returns, kills Master Thundering Rhino with a cannon, imprisons Masters Storming Ox and Croc and takes over Gongmen City while his army raids villages for metal to build more cannons. Po remembers seeing Shen the last time he saw his birth parents. Critics praised Oldman's voice work and the character's development.
