Background

The trouble starts when Kurapika follows a rumour about another survivor of his Kurta Clan. A boy he knew as a child, Pairo, attacks him and takes his eyes, and through those stolen eyes Kurapika glimpses a man bearing the spider tattoo of the Troupe.

Omokage turns out to make living dolls from the dead, among them a revived Uvogin and copies of Pairo and Illumi. Gon even lets the Illumi doll take his own eyes so the group can trace the puppeteer to his hideout.

In the final fight Hisoka helps the four friends, and Kurapika binds Omokage with his chain. The puppeteer dies at the hand of Retsu, a doll made from his late sister, and the real Phantom Troupe lets Kurapika and Hisoka go for now.
