Daeron Targaryen

The youngest child of Viserys I and Alicent, rider of Tessarion and ward of the Hightowers.

Prince Daeron Targaryen is the youngest son of King Viserys I and Queen Alicent Hightower. He rides the dragon Tessarion and spent several years in Oldtown as the ward of Lord Hobert Hightower and then of Hobert's son and successor, Lord Ormund. Once Tessarion was big enough to fight, Daeron flew with the Hightower forces as they marched to battle.

In season 3, Ormund Hightower submits to Daemon Targaryen after Rhaenyra takes King's Landing and hands over a merchant boy posing as "Daeron", whom Alicent does not recognize. The real Daeron remains with Ormund when he seizes Tumbleton, with Tessarion hidden inside the town's keep. Ormund tells the reluctant Daeron that he plans to put him on the throne, has coins minted with his likeness and publicly claims him as king.
