Lucerys Velaryon
Rhaenyra's second son, rider of Arrax, devoured with his dragon by Vhagar.
Lucerys "Luke" Velaryon is the second son of Rhaenyra Targaryen and her husband Ser Laenor Velaryon in House of the Dragon, and the rider of the dragon Arrax. His biological father is Ser Harwin Strong. After Lady Laena's funeral, on learning that Prince Aemond has claimed her dragon Vhagar, Lucerys slashes Aemond's eye with a knife and partly blinds him. Sent after King Viserys I's death as an envoy to Lord Borros Baratheon at Storm's End, he is refused, because Aemond has already won Borros over with a marriage alliance; Aemond chases him on Vhagar, and Vhagar, ignoring Aemond's commands, devours both Lucerys and Arrax.
Lore & Background
Six years after the fight with Aemond, Luke is betrothed to his cousin Lady Rhaena Targaryen; once married, the two would be joint heirs to Driftmark. In season 2 Rhaenyra finds part of Arrax's remains, but nothing is left of Luke, who was swallowed whole, and his funeral is held at Dragonstone.
