Alastor's return hits the airwaves, Vox loses his cool, and Sir Pentious is caught spying.
"Radio Killed the Video Star" is the second episode of the first season of Hazbin Hotel, released on Prime Video on January 19, 2024. With the next Extermination moved up to six months away, Sir Pentious attacks the hotel again and Alastor fends him off, which alerts Vox, Alastor's rival, that the Radio Demon has returned after a seven-year absence. The Vees send Pentious in as a spy; he is exposed, and Charlie gives him a second chance.

Background
Vox and Alastor duel over the airwaves in the episode's song "Stayed Gone", a broadcast debate Vox loses. Alarmed that Alastor has allied with Charlie, Vox, Valentino and Velvette set out to stop him making a deal with her and plant Sir Pentious in the hotel. When the spy is caught, Charlie takes pity on him and he chooses to stay as the hotel's first official patron - a decision that leads, by the season's end, to his redemption.
The episode opens with Charlie panicking that the hotel now has half the time it expected; Vaggie points out that sinners desperate to escape the Extermination may finally come to the hotel. Vox is introduced in V Tower, and the episode is the first proper appearance of the Vees as a trio.
