Knockturn Alley

Knockturn Alley is described in the novels as a dark, seedy alleyway running off Diagon Alley. Many of its shops, such as Borgin and Burkes, deal in the Dark Arts. Objects seen in Borgin and Burkes include a cursed opal necklace, a Hand of Glory and a Vanishing Cabinet, which Draco Malfoy uses to get into Hogwarts in Half-Blood Prince. Voldemort briefly worked at Borgin and Burkes in the 1940s.
