Muggle-Born Registration Commission
The Ministry body that persecuted Muggle-borns under Voldemort.
The Muggle-Born Registration Commission was set up by the Ministry of Magic after Lord Voldemort took it over on 1 August 1997. Officially, every Muggle-born witch and wizard had to register and be questioned about how they had "stolen" their magic from "real" witches and wizards; in truth the Commission existed to degrade and imprison them. Dolores Umbridge led it for its whole existence, with the Death Eaters Travers and Corban Yaxley, their ally Albert Runcorn and the Ministry worker Mafalda Hopkirk. It sat in a courtroom on Level 10 of the Ministry and was dissolved on 2 May 1998.
