Installation 00 serves as the logistical heart of the Halo Array's existence. Its primary directive is to construct new installations should the original seven be destroyed or compromised. During the Great Schism between the Covenant species, the Ark became a central battleground. The Prophet of Truth attempted to activate all rings directly from here, bypassing the need for individual ring control rooms after Installation 05 was compromised. This plan was thwarted by the combined forces of humanity and the Swords of Sanghelios. The geography of the Ark is distinct from the rings themselves; it lacks a habitable surface in the traditional sense, consisting instead of floating platforms, construction zones, and massive forges. It houses the control mechanism that can trigger the entire array simultaneously. In the aftermath of the war, the Ark became a site of uneasy truce and reconstruction efforts between former enemies.
