Background
The first three books follow the surviving members of the Company of the Lynx, Kelemvor Lyonsbane, Adon of Sune, Midnight (Ariel Manx) and Cyric, as they hunt for the Tablets of Fate, which list the gods and their places in the balance of Law and Chaos. The theft of those tablets caused the Time of Troubles, when every god except Helm was cast down to Toril and faith and magic ran wild. The last two books deal with the aftermath once the tablets are returned to Ao: Midnight takes up the mantle of Mystra, Kelemvor becomes god of the dead, and Cyric seizes the domains of several evil gods and goes mad. Scott Ciencin wrote the first two novels and Denning the third.
