Cormanthor is an elven forest and city of the Forgotten Realms and the main setting of Elminster in Myth Drannor, the second novel of The Elminster Series.

Lore & Background

In the novel Elminster enters the forest at Mystra's command. Pledged to return a dying elf's family mind stone (kiira), he sneaks into the City of Cormanthor, where elves kill any non-elf on sight. He wins the trust of the ruling Coronal and the forest's guardian, the Shrinshee, survives tests and attempts on his life, learns elven magic and plays a large part in raising Cormanthor's Mythal.
