Céline Dion

The Canadian star who won Eurovision for Switzerland in 1988.

Céline Dion (born 1968) is a Canadian singer and one of the best-selling music artists of all time. A teen star in Quebec with eight French-language albums in the 1980s, she gained international recognition when she represented Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest 1988 with "Ne partez pas sans moi" and won by a close margin. In 2025, during the first semi-final of the contest in Basel, she appeared in a video message before a tribute performance of her winning song by former Eurovision entrants; illness made her cancel a planned guest performance in that year's final.
