Host and winner of the first contest, with three wins in all.

Switzerland has taken part 66 times, with SRG SSR as its broadcaster. It hosted the first contest in 1956 in Lugano and won it with "Refrain" by Lys Assia. Its second win came 32 years later, in 1988, with "Ne partez pas sans moi" by Celine Dion, and its third 36 years after that. It missed four contests after being relegated for poor results.
