Background
In January 2014 Titan signed the VeryGames lineup of Ex6TenZ, NBK, SmithZz, ScreaM and shox and went on to win the DreamHack Invitational that February, defeating rivals Ninjas in Pyjamas. Ranked second in the world when Copenhagen Games 2014 seeded by ranking, the team underperformed there, and in May shox left and kennyS arrived, with a second place at Gfinity 3 the best result that followed.
A September 2014 rebuild kept only Ex6TenZ and kennyS and added apEX, Maniac and KQLY from Team LDLC; the new team won the DreamHack Stockholm Invitational against their former teammates, and analyst Thorin called kennyS the best player in the world. KQLY was dismissed in November 2014 after a VAC ban and replaced by RpK. In July 2015 shox and SmithZz returned in place of apEX and kennyS, and ScreaM came back in September.
Founder and CEO Damien Grust announced on 13 January 2016 that Titan could no longer fund its Counter-Strike team or pay its staff after a year of failed sponsorship, share-sale and merger talks, a day after the Smite roster had departed.
