Background

Papillon started playing Counter-Strike at nine after his older brother introduced him to the series, and his parents let him take a year off from studies to pursue it, which led to his first successful Counter-Strike: Source teams around 2007. His handle comes from a Nike shoe model popular at the time.

He made his name with the French Source squads that dominated that game and was part of the VeryGames team that won ESWC 2011, his first major title. Rejoining VeryGames after CS:GO's release, he was regarded as the best player in the world in late 2013 and early 2014, and went on to play for Titan, Team LDLC, EnVyUs, G2 and Team Vitality.

In 2021 he joined a non-French team for the first time, Team Liquid, but was benched after six months of disappointing results. He signed with the Norwegian organisation Apeks in August 2022.
