Background

Rossander came up through Counter-Strike: Source with Reason Gaming and Epsilon before a CS:GO start with TT Dragons and Anexis Esports, where his Western Wolves lineup finished second to Ninjas in Pyjamas at Copenhagen Games 2013. A 2014 dispute at the GDK LAN finals over his girlfriend's access to the stage brought a tournament ban, a fine and his removal from Copenhagen Wolves, and he spent 2015 at semi-professional level.

He rebuilt his career in 2016 with a revamped Copenhagen Wolves roster that Heroic signed, despite suffering several collapsed lungs at the time, and stood in for Astralis at ESL One Cologne 2016. Astralis then signed him to replace in-game leader karrigan, and the results were immediate: a win at the ECS Season 2 Finals, the ELEAGUE Major 2017 trophy in Atlanta worth $500,000 and IEM Katowice 2017. After a group-stage exit at ELEAGUE Major: Boston 2018 and Kjaerbye's departure, Magisk joined and Astralis won the FACEIT Major: London 2018 and the first Intel Grand Slam, with a 31-match LAN winning streak on Nuke.

gla1ve and coach zonic are credited with the tactical system behind that run. Victory over ENCE at IEM Katowice 2019 and a fourth title at Berlin later that year made Astralis, in many eyes, the greatest CS:GO team of all time; he was ranked eighth in HLTV's 2019 top 20, unusually high for a caller, with his first MVP at IEM Beijing 2019.
