Limburg United, also called Hubo Limburg United for sponsorship reasons, is a professional basketball team from Hasselt in the Belgian province of Limburg. The club was founded in 2014 and competes in the BNXT League, the top level of Belgian basketball. Its home court is Sporthal Alverberg. The team has won the Belgian Cup twice, in the 2021–22 and 2023–24 seasons.
The club was created in early 2014 in Hasselt, driven by the desire to bring a top-tier basketball team back to Limburg province after Bree B.B.C. was relegated from the Belgian first division in 2008 and later dissolved. Limburg United applied for and received a B-licence to enter the 2014–15 Basketball League Belgium. Former Antwerp Giants assistant Brian Lynch was hired as head coach on a five-year contract. The club’s stated long-term goal was to become a subtop team in Belgium within three to five years. In the 2016–17 season, Limburg reached the Belgian Cup final but lost to Telenet Oostende. Since the 2021–22 season, the team has played in the BNXT League, a merger of the Belgian and Dutch national leagues. On 14 March 2022, Limburg United won its first trophy by defeating Oostende in the Belgian Cup final.
