The club's history began in 1954 with Rimelago Basket Aarschot, which climbed from the fourth provincial division to the first division over 25 years. During its most successful period in the 1970s, Rimelago went undefeated at home for six years, a streak ended by direct competitor Perron Liège and the Canadian Robinson. In the early 1980s, the club was renamed BBC Toptours Aarschot, featuring star players Tom Kropp and Iba Sisokko, and drew about 2,000 spectators per home game. In 2005, a merger between Yellow Star Aarschot, Gelrode Aarschot, and BBC created GSG Aarschot, which then had 300 active members and returned to higher national rankings. Tom Kropp, a high-scoring American from Nebraska, played for the Washington Bullets and Chicago Bulls before joining Toptours Aarschot. In his last season, he averaged 35.1 points per game, a record that still stands. The club's honours include being Belgian Cup runners-up in 1981–82.
