BC Castors Braine (Braine Beavers Basketball Club) is a Belgian club from Braine-l'Alleud, fielding both men’s and women’s teams. The women compete in the top-flight National First Division, which they first won in 2014. The men’s side plays at the provincial level.
Founded in 1939, the men’s team took part in the Korać Cup during the 1987–88, 1990–91, and 1996–97 seasons. The women’s squad reached the national first division in 2011. In 2014, they captured both the Belgian championship and the national cup. The following season, they became the first Belgian team to reach a European final, finishing as runners-up in the 2014–15 EuroCup Women. Castors Braine then won the next four Belgian titles, also taking the Belgian Cup in 2015 and 2017 (BC Namur-Capitale won it in the other years). At the start of the 2015–16 season, the club rebranded as Mithra Castors Braine after a partnership with Mithra Pharmaceuticals, a name used in FIBA Europe materials for the EuroLeague. The 2019–20 season was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic; Castors were declared champions for the fifth straight time as they led the standings at the stoppage.
