The Kortrijk Spurs, also called House of Talents Spurs for sponsorship reasons, are a professional basketball club from Kortrijk, Belgium. As of 2023, the club has 62 teams, more than any other basketball club in the country. The men’s first team competes in the BNXT League. Their home court is the event hall at Sportcampus Lange Munte, which has a capacity of 2,400 spectators.
The club was created in 2019 through a merger of K Basketteam Kortrijk and BC Kortrijk Sport. That same year, the men’s first team moved up from the Top Division Men Two to the Top Division Men One, Belgium’s second tier. In its second season, Christophe Beghin, a three-time Belgian Player of the Year, became head coach. The team reached the Top Division I finals in 2022 but lost to Guco Lier. Between 2021 and 2023, sponsorship revenue increased tenfold, and several investors from West Flanders joined. The last Kortrijk team to play in Belgium’s top division was IJsboerke Kortrijk in the 1970s; its biggest achievement was winning the Belgian Cup in 1976. In January 2023, the Spurs applied for a BNXT League license for the 2023–24 season, which they received in May. On 12 May 2023, they beat Donza in the Top Division Men One final to win the second-division title. After promotion, Chairman Steve Rousseau said the team aimed to contend for the national championship and hoped for a Belgian Cup victory as early as 2025.
