Paradise Run
Three teams of children race through a Hawaiian resort.
Last updated
Paradise Run is an American reality competition television program that aired on Nickelodeon from February 1, 2016 to January 26, 2018. The program is presented by Daniella Monet.
Premise
Three kid duos tear around the Hilton Waikoloa Village in Hawaii, racing through three tasks handed out by host Daniella Monet via tablets. The squads are called Team Makani (wind), Team Nalu (wave), and Team Ahi (fire).
After each challenge, they snag a souvenir, snap a selfie with it on their tablet, and beam it to Daniella. When all three challenges are finished, they crack a riddle pointing to the finish line—a suite where Daniella and the kids’ parents are hanging out. The first duo to sprint there bags a four-day, three-night hotel stay; the other teams get smaller prizes.
Production
Paradise Run was picked up by Nickelodeon in December 2015, when Daniella Monet was announced as host. The program features three teams of children competing in challenges at a Hawaiian resort. Nickelodeon announced the program would premiere on February 1, 2016. It is produced by Nickelodeon and Stone Stanley Entertainment, who previously produced Legends of the Hidden Temple.
On March 29, 2016, a casting call went out for children on Maui to audition for a second season, with filming scheduled for May–June 2016. The second season premiered on November 14, 2016. The program was renewed for a third season on March 9, 2017, and that season premiered on November 13, 2017.
