A children's competition series about laws of Karma.

Last updated

Karma is an American competitive children's television series hosted by Michelle Khare. It premiered on HBO Max on June 18, 2020. The show was taken down from HBO Max on September 1, 2020, and is not currently available to view.

The contests

In the first season, each team picked one of eight Karma laws—Inspiration, Connection, Patience, Giving, Humility, Growth, Focus, or Responsibility—and a color to stand for it. These laws came as medallions. When a team was voted out, their medallion went to another team still in the game. After the challenge winner chose two teams to go to the Cave of Karma, the other teams each got one Karma Coin.

At the offering, those safe teams, one by one, gave their coin to whichever of the two Cave-bound teams they wanted to help. More coins meant more chances to survive the Cave challenge.

Inside the Cave, the two selected teams competed to find their own coins, which the opposing team had hidden under one of ten stone chambers on each side. The teams took turns smashing chambers open. The first team to locate the required number of coins for that Cave round won and came back into the competition.

Season summaries

Eight teams competed. The player who won the team selection challenge chose all the teams. The team that won the Team Challenge nominated two teams for the Cave of Karma. A contestant could earn Laws of Karma during a challenge. A team that did not win the challenge but was safe avoided the Cave. A team that won at the Cave of Karma stayed; a losing team was eliminated. In the Final, the eliminated teams gave clues, not coins, to the two finalists to assist them in the final Cave challenge.
