Electronic Countermeasure
The player can equip an ECM pod in place of a special weapon; in older games it was called an Electronic Counter Measure Pod (ECMP).[1] When ECM is activated, all enemy missiles tracking the player lose their lock and fly straight along the last-locked vector.[1] While ECM is active, the player is immune to enemy radar lock, but enemy missiles can still hit and damage the aircraft if they collide physically.[1] An ECM device blocks enemy targeting locks.[1]
After a short active period, the battery must fully recharge before the ECM can be used again.[1]
