Prelude
The landing site was chosen because it was outside the effective attack range of the Erusean superweapon Stonehenge.[2] Erusea had anticipated an amphibious landing along the eastern coastline and had built a defensive line of tanks, pillboxes, and artillery batteries inland of the planned landing areas.[2]
Summary
ISAF Navy vessels bombarded Erusean coastal positions from several miles out at sea, while carrier-launched fighters provided close air support.[3] ISAF Army forces suffered considerable casualties storming the beaches, but precision air strikes by ISAF fighters prevented higher losses.[3] During the battle, AWACS SkyEye detected six Erusean A-10A Thunderbolts inbound to Crowne Beach, which were all shot down by ISAF fighters along with several escort fighters.[3] First Lieutenant Baelz, who commanded at Crowne Beach, died after being hit by an A-10, and Sergeant Collins assumed leadership.[3]
Result
The operation resulted in an ISAF victory and the establishment of a beachhead, marking another turning point in the Continental War.[4][5] Three months after the ISAF evacuation to North Point, the Allies had reestablished a foothold on the mainland.[4] Erusea had to pull back to its defensive Tango Line in central Usea once it no longer had the advantage from Stonehenge.[4]
