Arkbird
The Arkbird is a maneuverable, low-orbiting spacecraft in Ace Combat.[1] It was constructed around 1999 to remove debris from the asteroid Ulysses 1994XF04 from Earth's atmosphere.[1] Originally conceived by the Osean Federation as an orbital weapon during the Cold War, it was later jointly developed with Yuktobania as a symbol of peace.[1] The Arkbird was sabotaged by the Grey Men, who hijacked it and loaded a V1 nuclear weapon to bomb the Yuktobanian city of Okchabursk.[1]
The Osean military turned the Arkbird back to its original role during the Circum-Pacific War, using it to eliminate the Scinfaxi and serve as a bargaining chip in peace negotiations.[1] President Harling gave the order for Razgriz Squadron to take down the Arkbird, which then crashed into the Ceres Ocean and detonated beneath the surface.[1] The Arkbird was destroyed on December 19, 2010 during Operation Game Bird.[3]

Design
The Arkbird's design features a white-plated, triangular fuselage with upward-swept wings reminiscent of a seabird.[2] It is powered by five main engines: two dual-nozzle rocket boosters, two combined cycle engines, and one auxiliary booster engine.[2] The Arkbird mounts a rapid-firing Yuktobanian laser unit on its dorsal section and anti-air missile launchers on its sides.[2] Following modifications by the Grey Men, the Arkbird's underside gained two UAV launch ports that could deploy Vogels.[2]
